Seasons Come, Seasons Go…But This One Thing I Know…

My outside thermometer is registering 1-degree F. (Brrrr) Baby, it's cold outside! I hope you're all staying warm. My favorite thing about winter is sitting inside and watching the snow fall. Yup, that's it. HATE when my gas tank nears the empty mark and I have to pull into a gas station. HATE having to bundle up just to run to the store for a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk. HATE having to rake the snow off my car when it's been sitting in a snowy parking lot for an hour. I even sort of HATE living in Michigan in the months of December-March. BUT...my family is here, and for that reason, I can't imagine living anywhere else.

Tonight, as I take a wee break from writing Maggie Rose, I watch the snowflakes fall outside my office window in lazy fashion and count my blessings, God and Family being at the top of my list. Seasons come and go, but God's incredible, steadfast love remains the same! Just take a minute to think about that.

Yes, we live in shaky economic times, but if you have GOD and FAMILY, people, you have everything you need. EVERYTHING! Sounds trite, doesn't it? You may be saying to yourself, "I need a job, so, no, GOD and FAMILY are not enough." I beg to differ. The Lord will see you through your difficult circumstances. Throughout the generations, He has proven His faithfulness.

TRUST, SURRENDER, and OBEY, my friends. Then watch Him work!

Just thought I'd share an example of what constant, abiding, untainted love looks like. My husband loves his grandchildren with every part of his being, through every season. (First photo taken on a hot July day in '08 with his oldest grandson, Dylan; the second, just today in 26-inches of fresh-fallen snow. See the utter JOY and DELIGHT on their faces? Feel their unblemished love for each other?)

Now, picture your HEAVENLY FATHER loving you even more--far beyond your wildest imaginings.

Seasons come, seasons go, MY FRIENDS, but one thing I know...GOD'S LOVE NEVER FAILS, NEVER CHANGES, NEVER FALTERS.
